Music Teachers’ Programme: A Week of Learning, Service and Joy

The programme brought together 36 music teachers from across India for a week of learning, creativity, service and collective growth. It commenced on 9 August 2026 with the traditional lighting of the diya, followed by an introductory session by Tara Jauhar, Chairperson, Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Delhi Branch, who shared the schedule and objectives of the programme.

Baren Raul familiarised the participants with the programme guidelines and led a series of lively ice-breaking activities, helping everyone connect and build a spirit of camaraderie.

An integral part of the programme was Shramdan, through which participants contributed to the upkeep of the Ashram by cleaning yoga mats and the surrounding premises. The activity encouraged a deeper sense of collective responsibility, service and mindfulness.

The participants took part in a diverse range of activities. Priya Pranav Gupta conducted yoga sessions, while Hemant Da introduced National Integration songs in different Indian languages. Shilpi Pratap conducted sessions in Arts and Awareness Through the Body (ATB). Hira Das organised games and March Past training in preparation for Sri Aurobindo’s Birthday celebrations.

As part of the evening programme, participants presented a musical offering in the Mediation Hall from 7:00 to 7:30 p.m. on August 9, 10, 11, 12, and 14, 2026. The performances added a warm and engaging musical touch to the evenings.

Dr. Ramesh Bijlani offered valuable insights into the teachings of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother, adding a deeper dimension to the participants’ learning and reflection. The programme concluded with a valedictory function on 16 August 2026, where certificates were presented to the participants in recognition of their participation.
